Four young chefs from the Sir John Colfox School took part, on 24th November, in the Bridport round of a national cookery competition supervised and judged by food experts. They have to prepare a two course meal for two for not more than £10. It took place at the premises of Local Food Links, St Michaels Trading Estate, Bridport.
Each contestant received a certificate and £10 in cash towards the cost of the ingredients used. The winner also pocketed a cash prize of £10 and he will now go forward to the District finals, in Wincanton, early in the New Year.

The judges were Ian Simpson from the White House Hotel, Charmouth, Nicky Cooper from the Bull Hotel and Jill Reynolds from Local Food Links.

Rotary International organise this annual contest in search of the best young cooks in Britain with local winners going on to compete in District and Regional Finals and then the National Final to be held in London in May 2010.
The winner will receive a Trophy, £250, a days work experience at a top London restaurant and a trip to the Olive Harvest in Tuscany with Filippo Berio.
