Lunch at Haddon House - January 4th, 2011

Today the Club met for lunch at Haddon House and where we were given a very lucid and confident talk by Lucie Trollope. The Club sponsored Lucie to visit India last year.

“The Bridport Rotary Club kindly donated £250 to enable me to go on an international trip with the Senior Section, part of Girl Guiding UK, to Sangam World Centre for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in India. This project taught me a great deal not only about Indian life style and culture but about International Guiding and opportunities for young girls around the world. I took part in “Discover your Potential III” at Sangam World Centre and was given the opportunity not only to develop my understanding of international Guiding but also to help to work with one of three local schools taking part in the event, in a project aimed at helping to educate children on the environment and their impact on it, I worked with a local corporation school for girls, where as a group we created four banners to be displayed in and around the school in order to send a message about the need to care for the environment”.
